About The Position

Join us at Lockheed Martin as an Electro-mechanical Product Lead for the D5 Life Extension II program for avionics packaging design and analysis. Location: This position does not support teleworking ;the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton or Englewood CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. Key activities you will accomplish in this role: Serve as the Electronics Working Group (EWB) deputy lead for avionics packaging. Perform as responsible product engineer / certified principal engineer (CPE) delegate. Review and approve all applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of the hardware designed. Oversee electronic packaging design and provide technical data for informal and formal Design Review documentation and presentations. Support manufacturing and test disciplines in minimizing cycle time and resolving electronic packaging problems. Interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance. To be effective in this role, you will need: Experience with the full product life cycle. Knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements. Coordination and execution of hardware designs. Development and integration of hardware for both custom and procured electronic assemblies in accordance with all Lockheed Martin Space engineering process specifications. Supported technical design review preparation. 5+ years of professional experience. While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance , thus US Citizenship is required. Why Lockheed Martin? Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Experience as a technical team lead.
  • Experience as an electro-mechanical responsible product engineer.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance ; thus a US Citizen .
  • Experience with the full product life cycle.
  • Knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements.
  • Coordination and execution of hardware designs.
  • Development and integration of hardware for both custom and procured electronic assemblies in accordance with all Lockheed Martin Space engineering process specifications.
  • Supported technical design review preparation.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading a multi-disciplined Design Team.
  • Familiarity with DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.).
  • History of accepting responsibility, being accountable, and strong performance.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Corrective Action Board experience leading to suggested Command Media updates.
  • Integrated Product Team (IPT) experience.
  • Ability to create an environment of continuous product and process improvement.
  • Willing to take risks, learn new areas and operate outside the comfort zone.
  • Experience creating cost and schedule projections or Basis of Estimates (BOE).
  • Existing security clearance.
