About The Position

Join us at Lockheed Martin as an Electro-Mechanical Packaging Associate Manager for the D5 Life Extension II program for avionics design and analysis. Location: This position does not support teleworking ;the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton or Englewood CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. Key activities you will accomplish in this role: What does this role look like? As an Associate Manager , you will be responsible for providing functional and program management, in executing technical work to cost and schedule commitments. You will provide leadership, functional management and technical direction to a team of engineers responsible for electronics packaging development, including mechanical design, stress and thermal analysis, an electronics and mechanical CAD (drawing development and release). You must have demonstrated capability to work with other cross functional teams and suppliers in a formative environment, as evidenced by excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to organize, motivate, and lead large groups of diverse personnel that includes customers, partners, and suppliers that are geographically dispersed. It is desired that you personally enjoy helping subordinates, colleagues, and associates by providing mentoring, career counseling, and technical help. Demonstration of a positive attitude and adaptability to a dynamic environment are also desired attributes. To be effective in this role, you will need: 8+ years of professional experience . Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • US Citizenship, as this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience in Mechanical Design with strong understanding of electronics, structures, mechanics and materials
  • Experience leading a technical team
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance ; thus a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading a multi-disciplined Design Team
  • Familiarity with DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.)
  • History of accepting responsibility, being accountable, and strong performance
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Corrective Action Board experience leading to suggested Command Media updates
  • Integrated Product Team (IPT) experience
  • Ability to create an environment of continuous product and process improvement
  • Willing to take risks, learn new areas and operate outside the comfort zone
  • Experience creating cost and schedule projections or Basis of Estimates (BOE)
  • Existing security clearance
