About The Position

INNIO is searching for an Electromechanical Field Service Technician for our Jenbacher team in the U.S. This position involves performing electrical and mechanical hands-on field service work on Jenbacher Gas Engines, which range in power from 0.25 to 9.5 MW and can run on natural gas or various other gases such as biogas, landfill gas, coal mine gas, sewage gas, and combustible industrial waste gases. The technician will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and minor overhauls of these engines.

Requirements

  • Must have prior Field Technician experience such as automotive, power generation, heavy equipment, or diesel engines.
  • Ability to crouch, twist, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Good electrical knowledge/electrician skills, such as wiring panels and alternators.
  • Experience interpreting wiring diagrams, interphase, and mechanical drawings.
  • Programmable logic controller (PLC) knowledge.
  • Troubleshooting skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Legal permit to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Execute service hands-on activities in compliance with the maintenance protocol of the engine, including maintenance activities such as replacing filters and other components, performing relevant mechanical and electrical inspections, measurements, and other tasks.
  • Carry out minor repairs on the engine in addition to the planned service.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities with an analytical mindset and propose solutions aligned to Jenbacher, understanding electrical/mechanical failures of the engine/alternator, as well as electronic failures associated with control systems.
  • Manage and work with third-party suppliers when needed.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and customer personnel in a healthy environment, either as a team player or as a leader depending on the situation.
  • Provide information about planned services and progress updates of the maintenance.
  • Take ownership of assigned sites and customers, proactively searching to maximize engine reliability.
  • Create a technical report specifying the reason for the visit, the actions performed, and the results, describing the use of materials and recommending follow-up actions if needed.
  • Maintain a basic set of tools, critical spare parts for engines covered, vehicle condition and availability, ensuring they are approved, clean, and stored properly.
  • Process timesheets, expense reports, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) forms, and job reports in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work site.
