About The Position

As an Electromechanical Design Engineer at OPW, you will be responsible for the specification, design, and development of cryogenic liquid and process gas transfer systems. This role involves providing welding, brazing, and fabricating process expertise to continuously improve manufacturing processes. You will interpret customer requirements into detailed specifications, produce detailed designs of systems and components, and develop analytical models to validate designs. Additionally, you will identify root causes of problems and implement solutions related to products and processes, while also evaluating components for conformance to design specifications.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Electromechanical Engineering
  • At least 4 years relevant experience in the design of electromechanical systems including piping and/or pressure vessels
  • Familiar with system designs in compliance with UL, ASME B31.3, and/or BPVC Section VIII Div 1
  • Familiar with process & instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams
  • Experience with Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with CAD software including AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D modeling
  • Experience with DFM
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with heat transfer and heat management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed design of systems and/or components, including design for manufacturability
  • Develop analytical models of system design and produce testing protocols sufficient to validate model
  • Identify problem root causes, develop & implement solutions related to products and processes
  • Evaluate and recommend components for conformance to design specifications
  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, product changes, manufacturing capabilities and project status
