About the position

The Electromechanical Assembler position at Aerotek involves fine pitch soldering and assembly of components onto PCBs for Wildlife tracker tags. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to written procedures, drawings, and verbal instructions to ensure high-quality assembly and testing of electronic components.

Responsibilities

  • Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in fixture or other holding device.
  • Join or secure parts in place by using solder, crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, cements, and press fits.
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuit boards or routes and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in molds.
  • Execute intermediate assembly tasks including potting, encapsulating, impregnating, epoxy bonding, curing, coating, stamping, etching, sanding, and cleaning of assemblies.
  • Conduct online go-no-go testing and inspection of parts to ensure assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Clean molds, and cast instruments, cups and spacers for re-use or testing.
  • Clean subassemblies (may involve the use of isopropyl alcohol, acetone, or Flux-Off).
  • Provide feedback to Engineering department to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Participate in company safety plan.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience soldering/assembly
  • 2 years minimum fine pitch soldering
  • Ability to solder under a microscope
  • Proficiency with basic math (add, subtract, multiply)
  • Ability to navigate through Microsoft programs
