About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Electrodiagnostic Tech to join our Neurology team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. Regularly performs one or more of the following neurological tests on adult patients (as ordered by a physician). All technologists are expected to be able to competently and independently complete: Inpatient and outpatient routine EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, Continuous video EEG monitoring, Inpatient and outpatient EMGs. Some technologists may also be expected to competently and independently: Monitor patients on the floor between Epilepsy surgeries, Set up and assist with cortical STIM studies, Set-up and monitor patients during WADA procedures. If trained to do EMG testing, the technologist in this class is responsible for obtaining standard, as well as advanced nerve conduction recordings in the laboratory setting under the direction of an electrodiagnostic medicine consultant. The technologist is responsible for checking and maintaining the instruments they use and keep them in excellent working condition. This class of technologist continues education, researches new techniques, and will instruct junior personnel. All technologists are responsible for maintaining files and records relevant to departmental activities, cleaning and maintaining all equipment and keeping it in excellent working condition and troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise. Technologists who are scheduled to perform EEGs for greater than 50% of their FTE will participate equitably in the call rotation.

Requirements

  • Certification/graduate of accredited END program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education
  • Required registration by AAET and/or ABRET in at least one type of neurological test within one year of employment
  • Strong clinical and human relations skills
  • Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles
  • Proven proficiency in the operation of personal computers, telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, printers, EEG testing machines, and collection devices
