About The Position

Novolex® is a leader in packaging innovation, choice and sustainability. We manufacture products in paper, plastic and sustainable materials for the food, retail, health and industrial markets. The Electro OR Non-Electro Maintenance Mechanic performs various duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment. This includes conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service. The role requires providing emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service. The mechanic will also prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs, perform mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair packaging and production machines, as well as electrical troubleshooting and repair on various equipment and building maintenance.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm, be available for overtime as needed, and be on call during a regular rotation schedule.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with VFD Drives and PLCs is preferred.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures is required.
  • Experience operating forklift equipment is required.
  • Ability to successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to stay safe and to continue to learn and develop.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical training/experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls is preferred, but not required.
  • Five to fifteen (5-15) years' experience in electrical and equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the principles of electricity and electronics; electrical codes; standard methods, materials, tools and equipment of the trade; electrical devices such as controls, switches, starters, transformers, motors, and panel boards; and potential occupational hazards connected with electrical work and the safety standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
  • Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Perform mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair on various equipment and building maintenance.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
  • Safely operate and repair forklifts.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
