  • Defining sensor requirements and performing trade studies to balance performance, size, weight, and power.
  • Building high fidelity system models and conducting radiometric and image enhancement analyses.
  • Developing calibration algorithms that ensure accurate radiometric performance across the mission envelope.
  • Creating and validating image processing algorithms to improve target detection and scene clarity.
  • Working closely with cross functional teams (algorithm, software, hardware, test) to integrate and verify the sensor architecture.
  • Generating technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and verification results.
  • Presenting technical findings and trade recommendations to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Supporting test and evaluation activities, analyzing data, and refining models based on test outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing radiometric infrared sensor system modeling, ideally from physics, not only running pre-developed tools.
  • Strong understanding of key parameters and executing critical design trades.
  • Strong understanding of Infrared imaging phenomenology with scenes containing point source targets and highly structured backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying characterization, testing and data analysis techniques to validate IR sensor system performance.
  • Demonstrated experience deriving sensor sub-system specifications for detectors, optics and algorithms.
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB.
  • Good organizational, communication, presentation, and teaming skills.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required prior to start.
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering, math or physics course of study.
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced and evolving development program.
  • Understanding of inertial tracking for point source targets.
