About The Position

The electroneurodiagnostic Technologist performs electroneurodiagnostic procedures using established protocols and procedures in a clinical lab, inpatient, and epilepsy unit setting. Modalities include EEG, AEEG, EMU, Wada Testing, EP, NCV testing, ERG and IOM. Training on modalities will take place on the job and be provided by a Registered Electroencephalographic and Evoke Technologist (ABRET) registry.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
  • One of the following registries is required: EEG, NCV, EP, IOM, PSG, CAP from ABRET or BRPT.
  • All team members must reach clin II status within three years of their hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all the duties of an Electrodiagnostic Technologist I.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to the patient and family using age-appropriate language.
  • Verify that the patient understands and agrees to complete the ordered exam.
  • Perform ordered exams or therapy by established protocols while respecting the patient’s ability and comfort.
  • Adhere to policies and utilize protocols to determine that expected outcomes have been met.
  • Document deviations from protocol and/or patient-specific issues that may impact quality.
  • Notify the appropriate health care provider when an immediate clinical response is necessary.
  • Complete all required post-processing and data transfer for physician review timely.
  • Demonstrate timely order closure, charge entry, and QA completion.
  • Assist provider and/or senior team members with continuing education literature and presentations.
  • Cover open shifts as appropriate based on your level of competency.
