About The Position

Iteris is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Test Technician whose primary responsibility will be to assist with the daily work assignments and priorities for the manufacturing team. This job includes trouble shooting and correcting of mechanical and electrical problems and requires skill in these areas. The individual collaborates with Manufacturing Engineers to improve product quality and processes. The job requires the individual to actively update testing requirements to ensure all potential quality issues are addressed during final testing. The individual aids in determining root cause and implementing corrective actions. He/she must be a detail-oriented person with a “can do” attitude and tenacity to resolve challenges that impact company goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree but not required; a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School degree or general education degree (GED)
  • Over five (5) years' working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving, some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds)

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineers and Design Engineering to ensure the correct testing methods are used
  • Support training of others to maintain maximum performance
  • Support efforts to determine root-cause and develop permanent resolution on issues found during product builds and test
  • Improve area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and constant scrutiny
  • Review upcoming test requests/schedule with the Production Manager on a periodic basis
  • Work with Engineering to write the test procedure
  • Design control systems to coordinate activities to ensure that products meet quality standards
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Manager
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Manager
  • Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 6S activities
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
  • Provide support to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Manager
