About the position

The Electro/Mechanical Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical and mechanical production equipment at Packaging Personified. This position requires strong technical troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production operations. The technician will work closely with the maintenance team to uphold safety and quality standards while contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer care.
  • Perform breakdown repairs, installation, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance on all production equipment, utilities, and buildings.
  • Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs to plant equipment such as slitters, extruders, flexographic presses, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical problems with an emphasis on electrical issues.
  • Respond to immediate repair requests of electrical, mechanical, and production machinery and building equipment.
  • Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, and written or verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
  • Seek out ways to improve equipment performance and product quality.
  • Recommend changes related to equipment use to increase efficiency and keep the supervisor informed of problem areas.
  • Work under minimal supervision and uphold all OSHA regulations, GMPs, and food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AA or vocational schooling is a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability in all areas of electrical maintenance, including 480v 3-phase motors, variable frequency drives, and controls.
  • Experience with mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprints, motor drives, controls, and PLC.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to understand root cause and prevent future downtime.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow equipment manufacturer's specifications.
  • Strong commitment to conduct preventive maintenance.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • A drive to succeed and a can-do attitude.
