About The Position

American Hydro, a leading supplier and installer of large equipment for the hydro electric industry, is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for their York, PA facility. This role involves performing regular routine maintenance, inspections, and services on all facility machines and equipment. Responsibilities include thoroughly cleaning machines and machine parts, removing and reinstalling parts when necessary, and applying preventative measures to the building to reduce potential problems and fix safety hazards.

Responsibilities

• Requires on-call duty rotating weekly basis

• Works required hours with minimum of absences, arrives on time and remains until end of shift, and notifies supervisor promptly of tardiness, absence, need to leave early
• Keeps supervisor apprised of problems/concerns and asks questions when necessary
• Works harmoniously with supervision, employees, visitors and accepts constructive criticism
• Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action
• Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
• Test equipment to check reliable, safe operations
• Verifies equipment operation after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime
• Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action
• Examines defects and analyzes spoilage causes and, where possible, takes corrective action
• Notifies maintenance department supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality/safety problems or supplies needed
• Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned
• May do paint and other types of upgrade work
• May work on building, grounds, office maintenance, roof repair, plumbing, etc
• New office/plant equipment installation/commissioning
• Completion of any other assigned duties
• Set up, adjust, and maintain assigned production equipment and machine tools
• Maintain the quality of the company’s production equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, and basic electrical equipment
• Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery and equipment
• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications
• Set up and operate metalworking machinery and tools, such as lathe, drill press, and grinder to make and repair parts
• Wire control panels, motors, sensors, and power systems according to schematics and technical drawings
• Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and PLC-controlled systems
• Quickly identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues using testing tools and schematics
