Summary Installs, maintains, and repairs various types of direct and non-direct patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs and stretchers, sterilizers, patient lifts, medication carts, and other electro-mechanical equipment. Performs preventive maintenance. Performs minor maintenance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, systems, structures and other general maintenance.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs various issues with beds, stretchers, patient lifts, blanket warmers, sterilizers, wheelchairs, and other rolling stock.
  • Performs preventive maintenance as needed
  • Performs minor maintenance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, systems structures and other general maintenance.
  • Responds to trouble calls, work requests and emergency situations.
  • Assists department colleagues of all trades as needed
  • Utilizes the CMMS work order system and documents time and work completed, all in a timely manner
  • Maintains buildings through the continuous repair of windows, doors, roofs, floors, stairways, and assists with the maintenance of grounds.
  • High School Diploma/GED with required years of experience or Technical School Diploma in a specific trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC
  • 3 years experience in electro/mechanical repairs or Less than 1 year with Technical School Diploma
  • Ability to read mechanical /electronic schematic drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude with electronics circuitry, wiring diagrams, and operations of mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in electro/mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to perform other trade skills typically associated with plumbing, electrical and mechanical operations as well as carpentry and other general maintenance.

  • Lift over 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull up to 140 lbs.
  • Carry 80 lbs. short distances.
  • Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
