About the position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 4 at Dematic Corp. offers a ground-breaking chance to join a top-tier team focused on engineering excellence. You will be a crucial part of our Mountville, PA site, ensuring the efficient operation of our innovative material handling equipment. As a senior technician, you will mentor junior employees and contribute to our ambitious projects. This role allows for working night shifts, '6:00 pm to 6:00 am on a rotating roster, with the potential for overtime and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, and component lubrication.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
  • Apply electrical test equipment to diagnose and fix electrical circuitry issues.
  • Build and close work orders in the asset management system, ensuring accurate data entry for labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
  • Address conveyance problems, determining and implementing the vital resources for resolution.
  • Locate and supervise the spare parts' inventory.
  • Perform sophisticated maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specified standards.
  • Assist in training customers to operate equipment.
  • Respond to service calls, resolving equipment failures and faults promptly.
  • Identify and tackle problems as they occur, taking appropriate steps to resolve them.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • An Associate's degree or vocational technical training is helpful, with niche skill training/certification being an added advantage.
  • Proven senior-level knowledge with 5-7 years of experience in a technical or specialty area.
  • Confirmed experience in the area of responsibility with successful demonstration of key tasks as outlined.
  • Ability to maintain professional communications with onsite customer leadership, Dematic leadership, and technicians, both through email and in-person.
  • Experience in leading projects, teams, and advising day-to-day operations and tasks to the onsite maintenance team.
  • Capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds each.
  • Regularly engage in bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and gangways without limitation.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces, with dust, fumes, noise, and standing on concrete.
  • Strong PLC and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
