About The Position
The Electro-Mechanical Service Technician position at Broetje Automation in Charleston, South Carolina, is a full-time role responsible for maintaining specialized robotic-controlled automated fastening machines used in aircraft assembly at the Boeing facility. As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Broetje Automation oversees all maintenance and PLC troubleshooting for this equipment. The technician will work closely with advanced machinery, ensuring optimal operation and performance through routine maintenance and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, as well as the ability to follow safety protocols and work collaboratively within a team environment. The technician will be tasked with ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements according to operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. This includes troubleshooting malfunctions, locating sources of problems, and using precision measuring equipment. The technician will also be responsible for dismantling assemblies to remove defective parts, adjusting functional parts of tooling and equipment, and performing routine preventive maintenance to control downtime. In addition to hands-on maintenance, the technician will manage equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, prepare mechanical maintenance reports, and maintain continuity among work shifts through effective communication.
