Electro-Mechanical Assembler
About The Position

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles.As an Electro-Mechanical Technician I, you will support a broad range of electrical and mechanical assembly and installation activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment building electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and other sub-assemblies for the best rail vehicles in the world.
Requirements
- High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Experience with electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive or electrical service industries.
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly
- Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English
- Knowledge of reading of blueprints, diagrams and various part list is helpful.
- Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Perform work overhead.
- Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
- Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Cut wire to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
- Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies.
- Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
