The Electro-Mech Technician I will assist Electro/Mech Technician II and III in the development, design, assembly, installation, testing, calibration, operation, evaluation, modification, and repair of devices used in the conversion of electrical signals to mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic outputs on sensors that convert mechanical, thermal, and pressure measurements to electrical signals. This role involves maintaining inventory, assisting with equipment maintenance and operation in laboratories, and performing tasks related to troubleshooting, understanding, researching, documenting, acquiring parts, repairing, and calibrating various electro-mechanical devices and systems. The technician will adhere to established operating procedures, policies, and protocols for lab equipment use, maintenance, calibration, and safety. Responsibilities also include performing scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance, monitoring facility systems, recording data, and operating standard equipment and instruments. The position is part of a team working on human space exploration and deep space exploration initiatives for NASA.
