About The Position

THIS IS AN APPRENTICE POSTIION – LEVEL I- III Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems for the university’s facilities. Install electrical systems according to blueprints in facilities under construction. Ensure proper wiring in construction or repairs and ensure electrical systems are in compliance with local or national regulatory requirements. Perform tests and locate potential electrical hazards for repair. Perform routine tasks as directed and under close supervision. Perform tests and locate potential electrical hazards for repair. Completes routine tasks under moderate supervision. Requires at least 1 year of related experience. This is an Intermediate Level position in the Support track. Job Code: S22672 Grade: S19 Electrician, III Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems for the organization’s facilities. Install electrical systems according to blueprints in facilities under construction. Ensure proper wiring in construction or repairs and ensure electrical systems are in compliance with local or national regulatory requirements. Perform tests and locate potential electrical hazards for repair. Completes assignments with little supervision. May assist less-experienced team members. Requires 3+ years of related experience. This is a Skilled Level position in the Support track. Job Code: S22673 Grade: S20 Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Electrician, I: Requires little to no related experience. Electrician, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience. Electrician, III : Requires 3+ years of related experience.
