About The Position

The position involves the installation, modification, and repair of automated industrial control equipment. The candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, installing, and maintaining various industrial control equipment and instrumentation. This includes loop controllers, variable frequency drives, solid state reduced voltage starters, level controls, ethernet motor control centers, belt scales, and control panels. A thorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is essential. The role requires availability to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed, and involves assisting in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment, including conveyors, bucket elevators, and washing/drying equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Journeyman Electrician License preferred
  • Four years combined schooling and industrial experience required
  • Strong machine electrical background
  • I/O knowledge and ability to read electrical schematics
  • Proven PLC troubleshooting experience, especially with Allen Bradley RS 5000
  • Proven HMI Programming experience preferred (Wonderware)
  • Computer skills in Windows environment and software platforms
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints
  • Knowledge of safety practices such as MSHA, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E

Nice To Haves

  • Networking experience (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet)
  • PLC background writing, debugging, developing and troubleshooting PLC's
  • Excellent analytical skills and data interpretation
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Installation, modification and repair of automated industrial control equipment
  • Design, plan, install and maintain industrial control equipment and instrumentation
  • Assist in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, PLC's and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair electric motors and equipment
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished work
  • Contact vendors to source replacement components for all electrical/electronic equipment
  • Drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
