The Electrician makes electrical repairs to all building fixtures, main power distribution, test cells and machine tools.
Works with minimum supervision.
Interprets and works from blueprints, wiring diagrams, one-line drawings, State and Municipal codes.
Computes wire size requirements when necessary.
Assists in machinery and facility schematic layout(s).
Performs related mechanical operations necessary to the dismantling or building of electrical and electronic units.
Does repair and installation work on large cables, such as splicing, tapping and insulating high voltage wire.
Assists in machine installation and other machine repair activities when needed.
Participates in continuous improvement activities/efforts with the classification/department.
Must have & demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery controls/ troubleshooting such as drive, power supplies, controllers, PLC ladder logic and basic programming knowledge.
Must have the ability to prepare and obtain quotes for electrical projects as well be knowledgeable of current electrical codes.
High school diploma/GED
Must be a licensed State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrician or Equivalent UAW or IBEW Electrician Journeyman Card Holder.
Able to troubleshoot all types of electrical, machine controls systems & electronic problems.
Thorough knowledge of shop mathematics, electronics, and understand electrically related machine functions.
Able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and interpret one-line drawings.
Able to provide / help update changes to the drawings.
