About The Position

The Electrician position at Cape Cod Hospital is designed to support and assist in the daily activities of electricians, ensuring the proper functioning of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment. The role involves a variety of tasks including the installation, repair, design, modification, and maintenance of electrical equipment and fire warning systems. The electrician will perform duties that require a broad scope of knowledge and complexity, including analyzing, developing, and troubleshooting electrical malfunctions on various equipment and systems. This position is critical in maintaining the safety and efficiency of the hospital's electrical infrastructure. In this role, the electrician will work cooperatively with other electricians to support daily operations and assist in departmental projects. The position requires applying conventional engineering practices to develop and correct malfunctions, as well as testing, calibrating, and inspecting electrical equipment. The electrician will also evaluate new and existing equipment, making recommendations for improvements or purchases. Preventive maintenance and safety tests are essential components of the job, ensuring that all equipment is repaired in a timely manner and in compliance with state, federal, and JCAHO standards. The electrician will be responsible for preparing technical reports related to assigned projects and studies, as well as collecting data and reports as required by Massachusetts electrical codes and other regulatory agencies. Working with high voltage switch gear and adhering to proper safety procedures is a critical aspect of this position. The electrician may also be required to perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested, contributing to the overall goals of the department and the hospital.
