The position is for a licensed electrician who is capable of performing both construction and maintenance electrical work. The primary responsibilities include the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and fixtures. This role is classified as Essential Personnel, meaning the incumbent may be required to report for duty during emergencies and can be designated by the supervisor as essential for the accomplishment of work or for the completion of critical tasks.

  • Installation of electrical equipment and fixtures
  • Repair and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Responding to emergencies as an essential personnel
  • Following oral, written, and diagrammed instructions for plumbing installations and troubleshooting
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Utilizing TMA Facilities maintenance software on portable devices
  • Being available for on-call duties
  • Working evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years' experience in the electrical trade
  • Must hold a Journeyman's electrical license
  • Valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver's license (not including corrective lens needs)
  • Must meet Tulane University Motor Vehicle policy criteria to become authorized as a driver
