General Description The purpose of this class within the organization is to construct and continuously maintain safe and service facilities implementing energy efficient technology for comfort and economic viability for City facilities. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks. Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Essential Functions: Strives to be efficient and effective at balancing and meeting the common needs and reasonable expectations of core constituents . Contributes towards the department's mission by continuously striving to meet expectations, strategic goals and objectives. Installs electrical and performs maintenance for special events and City facilities. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical outages; repairs faulty electrical issues. Performs LED installation and maintenance. Repairs and replaces faulty security equipment. Installs various electric panels throughout the City; installs new electrical systems, mechanical and electrical door locks, generators, and security systems. Runs and terminates low-voltage Cat 5 and Cat 6 for IT Department. Restores building fixtures. Additional Duties : Sets-up master keying system for door locks. Assists HVAC technicians with electrical work. Installs wiring and end terminations for computer systems, phone systems, and security systems. Troubleshoots faults with computer and phone wiring for IT Department. Performs related work as assigned.
