About The Position

The Electrician will be responsible for maintenance of three-phase 480v electrical equipment and mechanically related systems in an industrial setting. Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and ensuring control equipment are in good working order in three manufacturing facilities. Accurate Castings Inc., a multi-foundry organization with specialized casting cleaning facility, pattern shop and machining operation, does business as Hiler Industries.

Requirements

  • Electric and Electronics - Knowledge of powered industrial systems, use of ohm meter, circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment.
  • Computers – Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Strong problem solving skills and an analytical thought process
  • Good communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Have a self-learning mindset while also helping others learn and succeed
  • Able to prioritize from a high level view while maintaining the ability to be detail task oriented
  • Be flexible and open to other’s viewpoints
  • Work both as part of a group/team and independently
  • Take accountability for actions and responsibility for outcomes
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Successful completion of at least two (2) years vocational school training or related field of study
  • 3+ years’ experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints, electrical/pneumatic/mechanical schematics, manuals, or other specifications to understand process operations.
  • Install conduit and pull wire working with a team.
  • Corrective and Preventative maintenance of equipment and control systems, including: 3-phase motors, emergency generator controls, automatic transfer switches, relay controls, programmable control systems, Schneider PLC’s and drives, AC/DC drive frequency controllers, pneumatic / hydraulic controls, and low voltage controls
  • Repair / adjust defective components, replacing worn parts, and inspecting components for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using tools, test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of units and systems.
  • Develop, modify and continually improve industrial devices, circuits, and process controls.
  • Coordinate efforts and consult with management, co-workers, supervisors, engineers and contractors to resolve problems
  • Maintain and track spare control parts inventory.
  • Ensure proper use of time, tools, specialty diagnostic devices, materials, parts.
  • Occasional evenings, early hours, nights, weekends, or holidays will be necessary as projects or breakdowns may arise, including some on-call repair work.
  • Follow safety procedures, including Lock Out / Tag Out, Arc Flash and associated PPE
  • Must wear safety glasses and steel toed shoes while in manufacturing areas
  • Occasional: respirator use, bending, kneeling, and properly maneuvering / lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Some work is on scissor lift and elevated platform heights
