About The Position

Under general supervision, perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment; and perform related work as required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program.
• Possession of a valid State of Nevada Journeyman Electrician Certificate.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the electrical trade.
• Considerable knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to use a variety of electrical tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair electrical systems and equipment, such as wiring, outlets, fixtures, motors, and appliances.
• Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify and correct problems.
• Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Use a variety of electrical tools and equipment, such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers, and multimeters.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Assist other trades as needed.
