Department: Job Description Summary: Position Responsibilities Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs by diagnosing trouble, repairing, and replacing parts or taking necessary corrective action. Responsible for and provides assistance with installation, replacement, repair, and testing of electrical circuits, equipment, wiring, appliances, systems, lighting, signals, communication, generating and distribution equipment (over 4000 volts), and power circuits. Makes recommendations on the design layout and installation of electrical systems and equipment. Analyzes and isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using test instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, and voltmeter. Maintains, tests, and repairs building electrical equipment such as emergency power generator sets, fire pumps, air handling units, fire alarm system, and equipment in power house. Instructs employees on location of protective devices for equipment, branch circuits, feeders, and also location and function of controls for special circuits. Conducts electrical safety inspection of new equipment being brought into the facility. Recommends modifications, replacements, repairs and procedures. Conducts preventive maintenance and performs equipment safety checks. Coordinates and advises other departments, contractors, and staff for department projects and maintenance. Provides direction to outside contractors on critical mechanical and electrical equipment, finishes, and systems. Verifies repairs and service are complete and satisfactory. Reports unsafe conditions to department leadership in all cases. Knowledgeable of support resources. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Possession of a valid Florida Driver License with no more than 4 points. Education High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of electricity, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited trade or diploma program. Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver License with no more than 4 points.
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of electricity, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited trade or diploma program.
  • 5 years experience
