About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Electrician to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. As an Electrician you will install, maintain, and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, outlet boxes, and other electrical fixtures, tools, and appliances. The Electrician will follow maintenance schedules, inspections, or work orders; perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions and repair as necessary. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Typical Responsibilities Include: Inspect, maintain, clean, repair, test, and adjust various electrical circuits, motors, lighting fixtures, fans, switches, office and heating appliances clocks, rheostats, thermostats, and electrical drills, grinders, and shop equipment. Test circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, amp meter, wattmeter, megger, and ohmmeter. Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits. Install splicing and connecting wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles, and power source. Determine work methods to accomplish verbal and written assignments. Plan working details and follow sketches, wiring diagrams, or blueprints. Consult supervisor for interpretation of unusual or complicated planning, layout, and specification problems. Install, maintain, and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, outlet boxes, and other electrical fixtures, tools, and appliances. Follow maintenance schedules, inspections, or work orders; perform maintenance services, diagnose system or equipment malfunction, and repairs as necessary. Provide training as required to assist less experienced personnel to improve their skills and safety awareness. Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Reads and understands Task Hazard Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the work place. May be required to work overtime Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service. Follow Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year work experience in the Electrical trade.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma/equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain all certifications required by Amentum’s Master Training Plan.
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
  • Have a thorough understanding of equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Be detail oriented and able to exercise good judgment in problem solving.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
  • Perform safety sensitive duties.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass an MVR check with a clean record.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years as an apprentice or one (1) year as a journeyman electrician, preferred.
  • Certifiable technical or trade school training, preferred.
