About The Position

The Electrician supports a mission‑critical, 24/7 airport environment by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical distribution and emergency power systems across terminals, concourses, ramps, and central utility infrastructure. This role ensures safe, reliable, and code‑compliant operation of switchgear, transformers, panels, lighting systems, and life‑safety circuits essential to airport continuity. The electrician performs preventive and corrective maintenance, conducts inspections and testing, and documents all work in the CMMS. By safeguarding the airport’s electrical infrastructure, this position helps ensure uninterrupted operations and the safety of passengers and facility personnel.

Requirements

  • Required: 5+ years of commercial or institutional electrical experience.
  • Must be qualified to perform electrical maintenance work in compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to obtain airport badging and pass background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Georgia Electrical Contractor license (non-restricted).
  • OSHA 10 (minimum); OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Experience in mission-critical environments such as airports, hospitals, data centers, or large campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs of switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, bus duct, branch panels, and associated components.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of emergency generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), UPS systems, and critical power distribution.
  • Investigation and restoration of unanticipated power interruptions.
  • Interior and exterior lighting maintenance (non-public customer areas per SOW).
  • Support electrical aspects of utility shutdown planning and execution.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM guidelines and NFPA standards.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS documentation (Hexagon) including work orders, testing results, and corrective actions.
  • Follow strict safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash protocols.
  • Meet preventive maintenance and work order SLA targets.
  • Maintain electrical system uptime and support life-safety readiness.
  • Operate and perform work using a 150-foot Boom-Lift with proper PPE.
  • Support rapid response and restoration during power interruptions.
  • Reduce repeat failures through accurate diagnostics and permanent repairs.
  • Maintain compliance with electrical safety standards and inspection readiness.
  • Support a strong safety culture with zero preventable incidents.
