About The Position

Electrician (1st and 3rd shift) $5000 hiring bonus! Works under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, duties include: Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints. Modification, and maintenance of facility electrical systems, production equipment, electronics and debugging of Allen Bradley PLC components and controls. The pay rate is $38.50 per hour plus $.50/hr for 3rd shift premium. Install electrical components, equipment or systems using blueprints, schematics, manuals or other specifications to determine installation procedures. Troubleshoots an electrical panel. Connects power supply wires to equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints. Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations or tests. Calibrate equipment to specifications. Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices. Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems. Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure it functions properly. Inspects components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects such as loose connections or frayed wires. Reference electrical drawings to resolve issues. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems. Testing of high voltage protocol. Knows how to use computer software to program, draw, modify and store schematics. Knows how to troubleshoot a PLC with a laptop to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience in a similar role
  • Must have working knowledge of Allen Bradley Controls Schemes
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to work any shift as assigned and overtime as required.
  • Physically capable and available to work overtime including holidays, weekends and evenings.
  • State of Michigan Electrical License is required.
