This job maintains the total electrical distribution system throughout the company's facilities. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshoots, utilizing specialized test equipment and hand/power tools. Requirements

• Education Required - High School diploma or equivalent
• Work Experience Required - 2 years in Commercial or Light Industrial Electrical experience
• Certifications Required - Electrical license or local licensure to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Knowledge of the State, Parish, and the Southern Building Codes.
• Ability to and experience with proper use all power, hand tools and specialized equipment associated with the electrical trade.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to and experience with working with minimal supervision.
• Ability to and experience with reading, writing and understanding mechanical and electrical symbolisms to enable one to interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and mechanical.
• Drawing skills in order to document electrical charges on existing prints for upgrading by CADD.
• Stress management skills.
• Ability to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces amounting to static postures/positions which must be held for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and take emergency calls.
• Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
• Must be able to crawl, climb, bend and lilt 50 pounds without any restrictions.
• Must be able to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces amounting to static
• Must be able to work a flexible working scheduling such as nights, weekends, and extended shifts etc.
• Emergency Calls.

Responsibilities

• Inspects maintains and repairs complex electrical systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and documentation of maintenance measures and logs.
• Researches and troubleshoots general electrical issues.
• Performs minor electrical installs as needed (i.e. receptacles, lighting switches, etc.).
• In the event of severe weather emergencies or disaster, personnel will be assigned a work area and remain onsite throughout the duration of the severe weather or disaster.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
