The Nebraska Capitol Commission is currently seeking an Electrician to join their team. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the electrical components in the Nebraska State Capitol Building. They will be working on motors, VFD's, switches, outlets, lighting and changing ballasts and light bulbs. They will be working with the maintenance staff and assisting them and learning the day to day operations of the building and equipment so that when on-call will be able to respond to after hour problems. They will also assist with seasonal snow removal.

  • Working on electrical issues.

  • Working on the building automation system.
  • All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.
  • Possession of a Nebraska Journeyman Electrical license OR Electrical Contractor license or eligibility to become licensed in Nebraska.
  • A current Electrical Contractor license is required to obtain electrical permits.
  • A current Journeyman Electrical license is required to perform electrical installation.
  • Licensed electrical contractor.
  • Familiar with multiple building trades such as plumbing, refrigeration and motor maintenance.
