About The Position

Pembina U.S. Corporation is recruiting for a Tradesperson - Electrician to be based at the Aux Sable NGL Extraction and Fractionation Facility located in Morris (Channahon), Illinois. This position reports to the Day foreman, I&E in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina's Facilities Business Division. Pembina's Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU) is involved in the Fractionation, Terminaling & Storage, and Logistics and Distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout North America. Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms - Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3) Butane (C4) and Condensate (mixture of C5+). Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix out into Ethane, Propane and Butane. As a Tradesperson, Electrician with Pembina, your electrical skills will play an important role and directly impact the safety, function, and reliability of our plant electrical systems, as well as overall operations of our facility. You will be part of a diverse team working with plant operations, maintenance technicians, safety coordinators, engineers, and contractors to ensure safe and reliable plant operation. Our Electricians are required to have a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our 15KV, 5KV, and 480V electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous related training and experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting as an Electrician or an associate degree in the Electrical field

  • Interact effectively & influentially with a broad range of personnel including engineers, technicians, vendors, contractors, and leadership

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)

  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be legally authorized to work full time in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Must have knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety standards
  • Working knowledge of low/medium/high voltage breakers
  • Extensive knowledge in Industrial 480 volt equipment including but not limited to: Motor Contactors, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, Motors, and Electrical Distribution systems
  • Familiarization of feeder and motor protection relays
  • Proficient electrical skills, including demonstrated experience troubleshooting electrical equipment and experience racking in/racking out breakers up to 13,800V, wiring various motors (single phase/three phase and various voltages), electrical controls and relaying, as well as ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and loop sheets
  • Apply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, corporate and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards
  • Proven history of ability to repair, test, adjust, or install equipment such as industrial controls, motors, VFD systems, motor controls, lighting, and Heat Trace systems
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections using diagnostic tools and test equipment and make necessary corrections to maintain a safe and reliable electrical system
  • Understand and follow company safety policies; and communicate safety issues to managers and Safety Department
  • Create work orders, recording maintenance results, and reading and updating drawings and other documentation
  • Monitor controls and electrical equipment to ensure effective and efficient service
  • Support Pembina's safety culture of 'Zero by Choice' and the 'Life Saving Rules'
