About The Position

This position is with the Public Works Directorate, Operations and Maintenance Division, Building and Grounds Branch at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington. The role involves providing technical direction and guidance in electrical repair projects, ensuring compliance with safety practices, and maintaining electrical systems according to established standards.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to perform the work of an Electrician without more than normal supervision.
• Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and/or guidance in accomplishing difficult electrical repair projects.
• Follow defined electrical safety practices and procedures to identify and maintain safe conditions and to avoid electrical hazards.
• Determine layout and placement of circuitry, fixtures and controls from wiring diagrams.
• Use a variety of electrical trade power tools, such as power and manual conduit benders, cable pullers, crimping termination tools, hydraulic knock out kits, drills, grinders, etc.
• Locate defects in electrical systems, wiring, circuits, fixtures, controls and equipment.
• Install electrical wiring systems in compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
• Maintain advanced lighting control systems to facilitate occupancy requirements and minimize energy usage.
