About The Position
Under the supervision of the Electrician Coordinator, the Licensed Electrician will perform a variety of tasks related to the installation and maintenance of electrical systems as required by the Massachusetts Electrical Board of Electricians. This role involves not only executing electrical work but also supervising and instructing an Electrician's Helper and/or Trainee when assigned. The Licensed Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment owned by the city of Cambridge are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant regulations. The position requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of electrical equipment. The Licensed Electrician will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team, collaborating with other city departments to ensure that electrical installations and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively. This role is critical in maintaining the functionality and safety of the city's electrical infrastructure, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
