Electrician Technician
About The Position
Superior EMP is a growing multi-state contractor with over 20 years of experience, specializing in responsive commercial electrical service, providing 24/7 emergency support, reliable repairs, and preventive maintenance for our clients. As an Electrician Technician, you’ll diagnose, repair, and install commercial electrical systems including generators, transfer switches and complete service calls independently while documenting work order progress. Technicians start each day from their home base, and schedules are Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday with a company vehicle and gas card provided.
Requirements
- Five or more years of commercial electrical experience in commercial electrical service or construction roles
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
- Proficient English communication skills required to write reports and emails
- Must be able to work according to safety guidelines, CALOSHA, and workplace policies
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of and experience with refrigeration control wiring, Ansul systems, and/or HVAC motor control wiring is preferred
Responsibilities
- Electrical diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of various commercial electrical wiring, power, and conduit systems
- Skilled in pulling and terminating wires in control centers, panels, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches, and/or raceways
- Proficient in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing emergency generators and temporary power systems, including automatic transfer switches and/or power distribution systems
- Knowledge of and experience with refrigeration control wiring, Ansul systems, and/or HVAC motor control wiring is preferred
- Ability to work independently from blueprints, sketches, and schematic drawings
- Provide informative customer service regarding the nature of electrical repairs
- Operate company vehicles in accordance with department policies
- Proficient in the use of cell phone communication, GPS, and electronic documentation technology
- Submit service paperwork and reports as required by department policy
- Available to work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday as part of the regular schedule
- Willingness to take on additional duties as needed to support the department
