About The Position

TITLE: Electrician (State Licensed) REPORTS TO: Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor EXEMPTION STATUS: Union UAW - Hourly PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnoses malfunctioning systems/equipment using schematics, test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and resolve the problem. Runs service and connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components related to supplying power to equipment. Inspects electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.  Identifies electrical problems and troubleshoots process equipment with a variety of testing devices.  Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Remains in compliance with the current electric code.  Completes work orders and records material utilized on jobs.  Runs computer network cables, connects computer jacks and plugs and tests for adequate operation. Utilizes blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.  Maintains current Electrician’s license to meet state regulations. Plans, layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and codes. Maintains lighting and emergency lighting throughout facility.  Performs preventative maintenance tasks to equipment. Uses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.  Other duties as assigned.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED State Licensed Journeyman’s card SKILLS & ABILITIES: Basic computer knowledge. Must be able to read blueprints, written specifications, and wiring diagrams.  Advanced knowledge of national and local electrical codes and ordinances. Possesses skills necessary to diagnose trouble in electrical circuits. PLC experience a plus. Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team. WORKING CONDITIONS: Standing for entire shift. Able to lift up to 40 pounds. Able to twist, bend, stoop as needed. Safety shoes are required. Safety glasses are required. Requirements
