About The Position

14092 - Electrician Specialist Lead maintenance teams in performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all electrical systems at two mountain tunnel facilities in SWRO. Lead maintenance teams in performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all electrical systems. Work activity includes ventilation systems, traffic signals, tunnel lighting systems, electrical switchgear, and PLC system. How you will contribute: Direct Systems Maintenance Activities: Direct assigned staff and contract employees in the completion of electrical and mechanical system repairs or maintenance work. Direct and perform advanced PM activities on electrical equipment. Oversee and Train Staff and Contract Employees: Related to proper technical aspects of electrical work per code and safety rules for tunnel systems and equipment. Assist with development of standard operating procedures for tunnel systems, equipment and staff. Perform Condition Assessments: Maintain records. Review tunnel inspection reports and ensure consistent documentation of PM checks and electrical equipment and asset condition. Plan, Develop, and Monitor Contract Work: To include electrical distribution systems repair, PLC system repairs, fan motor maintenance, and other system or facility maintenance, repair or service.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret, explain, and apply National Electric Code, NFPA standards, Federal, State and local policies, codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to oversee the work of others.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor during emergency situations requiring such actions.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate work unit and contractor schedules.
  • Ability to use, read and interpret complex electrical and mechanical reports.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC electrical circuits, low and high voltage electrical circuits, electrical switch gear and heavy duty electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of control circuits, controls for pumps, motors and various electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, and techniques used in operation and maintenance of industrial control systems.
  • Skill in basic computer operations.
  • Skill in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Ability to obtain Virginia and West Virginia electrical license within 12 months of employment.
  • Experience overseeing the work of others engaged in facility and system maintenance activities.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Experience using, reading, interpreting complex electrical and mechanical reports.
  • Experience with AC and DC electrical circuits, low and high voltage electrical circuits, electrical switch gear and heavy duty electrical equipment.
  • Experience with control circuits, controls for pumps, motors and various electrical systems.
  • Skill in basic computer operations.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • A combination of training, experience, or education in PLC Maintenance, or related field desired.
  • Experience in project management including planning and monitoring contract work.
  • Experience in the field of facility and control system operations, and in staff oversight supporting 24 hour operations.
  • Experience with PLC maintenance and advanced PM techniques including thermography and ultrasonic inspection.
  • Possession of electrical license.
