Requirements

  • High school graduate/GED required with five years of experience or associate degree and three years’ experience in a relevant work/industry/military/job specific experience.
  • At least five years’ experience in the electrical trade is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of other building trades and general building maintenance is required.
  • NC State Electrical license preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including cabling and communications wiring.
  • Ability to perform journey level work on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Read and write sufficiently to complete paperwork and read schematic designs and blueprints.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, contractors and tenants, representing the airport in a professional manner.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Provide lead direction and training to other employees.
  • General building maintenance work incidental to above duties or necessary to keep buildings in working order.
  • Compile lists of equipment, tools and supplies needed.
  • Operate cars, vans, bucket trucks and other heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of other airport systems including HVAC, plumbing, generators, data emergency systems, aircraft fueling systems and electrical vehicle chargers.
  • Subject to emergency call back for equipment repairs and inclement weather.
