Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
18 years of age or older
Valid Driver's License
Four years of experience working as an electrician in an industrial environment
Experience with blue print/schematic reading
One year experience in interpreting schematics and diagrams
Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, or safety-toe boots
Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work
Complete annual training and pass safety rules examinations
Federal regulations require random testing for drugs and/or alcohol
Must pass all required assessments
Must pass a background screening
Must pass a post-offer medical examination, including a drug test

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
Diagnose and repair electrical component malfunctions
Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to pier equipment such as lighting and heating, including both low voltage and high voltage repairs
Install and maintain electrical wiring and equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electrical equipment 12VDC to 13,000VAC, generators, switchboards, meters, lighting systems, electric welding machines, weighing and scale systems, heating/air-conditioning units, motor control systems and various drive unit transformers
