About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician – Lineman Lead supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Open to internal BNH candidates only. External candidates will not be considered. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work. The successful candidate will under general supervision, perform as a working leader man over lower grade craftsman performing lineman work of journeyman level in installation, maintenance, and repair of energized high – and low voltage power transmission lines and substation equipment.

Requirements

  • Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Six years of progressive and relevant experience in lineman work which may have been as an apprentice in the trade
  • Must possess a valid state Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Must be knowledgeable of and proficient in the operation of all motorized equipment necessary to perform the above duties, including aerial boom trucks and auger trucks
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions
  • Must be able to direct the work of others
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and maintain access to the AEDC local area network
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Work on, above, or below ground as required in all types of weather
  • Be subject to hazards associated with handling of high-voltage electrical equipment
  • Erect and repair communication and power transmission poles and lines
  • Install and maintain high-voltage transformers, transformer banks, cables, and line switches
  • Run power lines to electric motors and generators
  • Inspect lines and equipment and report needed repairs
  • Test high voltage circuits and substation equipment
  • Install and repair buses in outdoor 161 KV and other substations
  • Instructs and directs helpers and operators
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Participate in functional specific safety training
  • Perform other duties as required
