About The Position

The Electrician, Licensed performs building maintenance and repair work, and responds to the corrective needs of electrical equipment, and system components. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Test emergency generators, and conditioning and heating systems. Maintains and repairs circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration units, fans, and other electrical equipment. Installs lighting fixtures and other electrical apparatus. Test circuits for continuity and overloading. Conducts fire alarm tests and participates in the movement and installation of machinery and equipment. Evaluates equipment performance using instruments, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges. Works from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment. Maintains records, prepares reports, and orders supplies and equipment. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Valid license from Miami Dade County
  • Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
