About The Position

Skillforce is seeking Electrician Journeyman for an ongoing project in Spotsylvania, VA. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and technical schematics to ensure all work is performed efficiently and safely. The journeyman electrician will collaborate with project managers, apprentices, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget. They are responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with local and national electrical regulations. Ultimately, this role ensures the reliable operation of electrical systems that support the infrastructure and daily operations of various facilities.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification.
  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
  • Experience using electrical testing instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to bend EMT Conduit - 1/2", 3/4", 1"
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to relevant codes and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all phases of work.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
