Under general direction, Econolite Systems, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time IMSA & NEC certified Electrician for various Traffic Signal Maintenance projects in Ventura County through Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside). The Electrician will be expected to work on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) related projects. Specific types of work include conducting Preventative Maintenance checks and repairs on Traffic Signals, Flashing Beacons, Solar Radar Feedback signs, Street Lighting and other electrical components as required by the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Willingness and capability to work on traffic signals, streetlights, and other Intelligent Transportation Equipment, using a bucket truck.
  • Inspect, install and maintain electrical components.
  • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices such as traffic signal circuits, cabinets, transformers, circuit breakers, services, streetlight luminaires, CCTV, communications equipment.
  • Terminate and splice Fiber Optic cable in various mediums.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Current/Active NEC Certification (Required).
  • Experience in Fiber Optic splicing, termination, and installation. Knowledge of utilizing fiber optic splicing equipment and splicing methodologies.
  • Corning Fiber Optic certification or equivalent.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).

Nice-to-haves

  • C10 Electrical contractors license preferred, but not required.
  • Fiber Optic Association Certification preferred, but not required.
