The position involves providing skilled electrical expertise to subordinates and their crews throughout all phases of construction. The role requires coordination of work schedules with the foreman, planning layouts, and installing and repairing wiring and electrical fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes. Inspecting wiring and fixtures for compliance with company specifications and local electrical codes is essential. The job also includes physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches for conduit and moving heavy objects, while adhering to production schedules and work hour requirements for job completion. The employee will interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders, analyze and resolve work problems, and assist co-workers in problem-solving. Testing electrical systems and ensuring safety and compatibility of circuits using various testing devices is a critical responsibility. The role also involves diagnosing malfunctioning systems, inspecting materials for quality, coordinating work activities with supervisors, and ensuring proper inventory management of parts and materials. Operating hand and power tools, company vehicles, and machinery is required, along with providing guidance to improve employee skills and ensuring adherence to safety policies. The employee may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays, with compensation based on Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.
