About The Position

This is a full-time position in a food manufacturing environment with opportunities for advancement! What You Will Do: Repair, install, and maintain manufacturing, production, and packaging equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime. Maintain and service gearboxes, motors, VFDs, power transmission components, sensors, PLC I/O, and control panels. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and PM schedule adherence. Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore operation quickly. Troubleshoot electrical systems from low to high voltage, single- and three‑phase. Interpret electrical schematics and PLC ladder logic. Program and troubleshoot AC/DC drive systems. Build, modify, maintain electrical motor control systems, robotics and automation. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical components and systems. Use MIG/TIG welders, gas torches, and basic machine tools (mill, lathe, drill press, band saw). Perform basic metal fabrication tasks. Use power and hand tools safely and effectively. Research, identify, and requisition parts as needed. Maintain plant utility systems, including boilers, steam systems, industrial refrigeration/freezing, compressed air, water systems, and wastewater treatment. Document maintenance activities, equipment history, and work orders with clear problem–cause–correction details. Maintain accurate records in the CMMS or maintenance logs. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Support continuous improvement, 6-S organization, and reliability initiatives. Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA, NEC, NFPA, LOTO, GMPs, and food safety standards. Ensure all work supports a Food Safe environment. Mentor, train, and support other maintenance personnel. Assist with startups, changeovers, and sanitation activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or GED (General Educational Development) with 4+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of motor control systems with ability to build and troubleshoot.
  • Sound understanding of PLCs and ability to work with integrated systems supported by interface control panels and variable frequency drives.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, NEC, and NFPA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and read PLC ladder logic.
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot AC/DC drive systems.
  • Basic ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to perform all Maintenance Mechanic II and Electrician II duties.
  • Arch Flash trained
  • Must understand solid state circuitry
  • Must understand 110V. 220V, 440V, and 480V systems
  • Must be able to lift ninety (90) lbs
  • Ability to size an electrical panel based components for install
  • ability to size components and wiring based on electrical schematic
  • Ability to size line voltage and transformer voltage
  • Ability to build electrical automation enclosure based on schematics and plant requirements
  • Ability to diagnose problems with programmable controllers on equipment and operate electrical testing equipment and machining equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, and complete required paperwork.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to expand knowledge and skills via on-the-job and formal training directed at increasing job-related skills as mandated by management, including all required OSHA training
  • Ability to learn basic computer skills, including SAP Maintenance Module
  • Ability to comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
  • Ability to obtain a valid forklift license.
