This position is responsible for maintaining all electrical systems throughout the airfield, terminal and various properties owned by the airport. The Electrician I will ensure that all electrical systems are functioning properly and in compliance with FAA regulations and federal standards. The role involves a variety of tasks including inspection, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, as well as advising contractors and maintenance workers on safety procedures.

  • Maintain airfield lighting distribution equipment and ensure all lighting is in proper working order, in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Inspect, check, repair and perform preventative maintenance on airport facility systems including airfield, terminal, parking garage, electrical vault, and more.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Advise contractors and maintenance workers on operation procedures and safety requirements.
  • Maintain performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Assist in estimating, ordering and installing special electrical systems on construction projects.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and acquire required materials and labor.
  • Participate in planning stages of new airport projects concerning electrical systems.
  • Provide information to contractors regarding airfield and building electrical systems.
  • Perform quality control measures on contracted terminal and airfield construction projects.
  • Inventory necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
  • Perform airfield snow removal by operating snow removal equipment as assigned.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
  • Vermont State Journeyman License.
  • Vermont State driver's License.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate high proficiency in electrical/electronic components and equipment.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Willingness to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Computer experience/operation and PLC programming.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures and work in close quarters.
  • Preferred valid CDL Class B.
  • Working knowledge of airfield lighting systems and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with computers.
  • Heavy equipment experience.
  • Knowledge of heating and air conditioning.
  • Salary range of $57,844.80 - $64,459.20 Annually.
  • Regular Full Time Non Exempt position.
  • Union affiliation with AFSCME.
