About The Position

The Electrician - Facilities Management Admin at the University of Illinois Chicago is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrically powered systems and equipment. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical trade procedures and techniques, ensuring that all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently within the university's facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a journeyman Electrician, including apprenticeship or vocational training.
• Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, generators, transformers, motors, and other electrical controls.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain electrical equipment, distribution systems, controls, and signal equipment.
• Inspect work sites to determine material and tools requirements and methods of repair.
• Lay out work, assemble equipment, and fabricate distribution runs.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to the work site.
• Install new electrical work and complete small remodeling projects.
• Plan, lay out, install, and assemble materials and fixtures as required by the scope of work.
• Repair, maintain, and calibrate electrically operated controls and devices, including communication devices, fire warning systems, and patient care equipment.
