Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Certified Electrician - Class A to join our team in Pensacola, FL. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Must have mechanical knowledge
  • A Class Electrician
  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them
  • Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
  • Most job sites require NCCER certification for A-class Electricians
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

  • Mechanical experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials
  • Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring
  • Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit
  • Pulls wiring through conduit
  • Splices wires
  • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels
  • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
  • May repair faulty equipment or systems
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
