This position involves training under the guidance of an On-the-Job Training (OJT) monitor/mentor to inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions and equipment. The role requires the use of various test instruments to maintain and repair electrical systems, ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include fabricating electrical parts, participating in the maintenance and operation of electrical tools and equipment, and troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems such as electric motors and controls. The position also involves testing and monitoring electrical systems to locate breakdown causes, ensuring the proper function of electrical safety devices, and adhering to National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. Additionally, the role requires maintaining service and repair records, responding to routine and emergency repair calls, and following blueprints to determine wiring locations and compliance with building and safety codes.

  • Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical malfunctions and equipment under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems; test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Fabricate electrical parts and participate in the maintenance and operation of electrical tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems including electric motors and controls under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • Test and monitor electrical systems, equipment, and components to locate breakdown causes and correct problems.
  • Ensure the proper function of electrical safety devices under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair new equipment and systems, learning NEC requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate service and repair records necessary for MSHA under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • Analyze and respond safely to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • Follow blueprints to determine wiring locations and ensure compliance with building and safety codes under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency.
  • Must complete and successfully pass basic skills aptitude testing.
  • Must participate and complete the 4-year company provided Penn Foster Apprenticeship Program.
  • Upon contingent offer of employment, must complete and successfully pass all pre-employment requirements (background check, physical, and drug screen).
