About The Position

The Electrician position is a full-time role on the 3rd shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, located in Troy, Ohio. The role involves executing plans for electrical wiring in an industrial/manufacturing environment, interpreting and creating electrical drawings, and installing various electrical apparatus and safety components. The Electrician will also be responsible for troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position requires effective communication and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interpret work instructions and safety rules.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Repetitive arm and hand motions during working shift.
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds consistently.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.
  • Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning electrical systems in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Interpret and create electrical drawings & schematics.
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Install safety and distribution components: switches, resistors, circuit break panels, etc.
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through conduits.
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulating cables.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Perform electronic tests and inspections, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, ensuring that systems are grounded.
  • Perform mechanic skills focusing on electrical, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facility.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Execute all required quality processes and documentation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Understand Controls Logic and how to troubleshoot.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley hardware & software.
  • Understand and able to troubleshoot Industrial automation controls.
